Shoddy building work on a new-build house – what can be done?
Buyers who have moved into a new-build house bought off-plan and are unsatisfied with the quality of the building work, is any recourse available? Our partner Simon Painter responds to a reader of The Sunday Times, that the clauses in the contract should be reviewed and that buyers are protected by a new-build warranty that is usually covered by the National House Building Council (NHBC). Buyers in this situation are advised to consult a conveyancing solicitor to assist with reviewing the warranty.
