Sushila is a senior commercial property lawyer with a breadth of experience in acquisition and disposal of properties, landlord, tenant and corporate support work. She specialises in investment and portfolio management. Not only does she act for her clients in relation to the acquisition of their investment property, but also post acquisition, assisting them with their day to day management of the properties. This can range from dealing with a variety of management issues (for both landlords and tenants) arising from commercial lettings, including agreement for leases, the grant and renewal of leases, licences, surrenders, variations, rent reviews, dilapidations, service charge disputes, and possession actions.

Sushila has a track record of developing a close and trusted relationship with her clients and this involves contributing to their strategy plans and reviewing existing work processes. This enables her to deliver a practical and cost-effective service tailored to her client’s business needs.

Career highlights

  • Acted for an investor client on the purchase of a mixed use London portfolio valued over £64 million, comprising 80 residential and 60 commercial units, within a framework of six weeks
  • Represented an investor client on the sale of two development sites in central London for a disposal value of over £24 million and £16 million. This included complex incentivised planning / sales overage regimes and secured deferred consideration provisions
  • Acted for a major international investment manager on the letting of their London headquarters in the West End, where the value of the annual rental exceeds £2.25 million
  • Acted for a social housing organisation on their office lettings based in London and Birmingham with annual rentals of £80,000 – £1.5 million
