Sinéad leads the commercial litigation team. She is an experienced litigator used to dealing with complex, high-profile and high value commercial disputes. Her cases include working on multi-million pound swap mis-selling claims, acting in one of the first derivative claims under the Companies Act 2006 and dealing with a multi-million pound dispute between shareholders in a complex off-shore structure as well as numerous, vanilla contractual disputes. Whilst Sinéad deals with any dispute in the commercial arena, she has a particular interest in shareholder disputes. She has been recognised in the Legal 500 for giving “good advice”.
A niche area that Sinéad also specialises in is inquests work. In this regard, she has acted in the Hillsborough Inquests, the inquest into the death of Jacintha Saldanha and is currently Deputy Solicitor to the Tunisia Inquests.
- Some of Sinéad’s key highlights include acting in Metrobus v Unite the Union (on industrial action), in Stimpson v Southern Private Landlords’ Association (early leading case on the new statutory derivative claim) and being appointed as Deputy Solicitor to the Tunisia Inquests.
