Sarah is a specialist charities lawyer with over 10 years’ experience. She regularly provides advice to a wide range of charities and not for profits on governance, commercial, fundraising and regulatory matters. She has extensive experience and know-how in assisting trustees and governing bodies to navigate governance and commercial matters in the context of legislative developments and increasing regulatory scrutiny.

Sarah regularly liaises with the Charity Commission and other regulators, including the Privy Council Office on behalf of clients and is adept at providing practical and pragmatic advice. She has also contributed to a number of Charity Law Association working parties, responding to relevant consultations in the sector.

She also has considerable experience in establishing new charitable entities, reviewing and improving governance systems, developing legal frameworks and advising on fiduciary and regulatory duties. She regularly advises on incorporations (including NHS Charity conversions), mergers and collaborative working, and works closely with colleagues across the firm to bring a truly integrated service.

Her clients range from national and international trading charities to royal charter corporations, membership bodies and grant makers across the sector.
