Oliver joined Bircham Dyson Bell in 2015 and qualified into Bircham Dyson Bell’s planning and infrastructure department in 2017.

Before commencing his training contract, Oliver spent four years working in the legal department of Portsmouth City Council, with a particular focus on planning, procurement and local government law.

Oliver has gained experience of advising clients on a range of planning and infrastructure consenting regimes for major projects including the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, Transport and Works Act 1992 and Planning Act 2008.

Oliver also has experience of advising clients in petitioning against the High Speed Rail (London – West Midlands) Bill (now Act) and related compensation issues. He is currently advising a number of clients affected by the High Speed Rail (West Midlands – Crewe) Bill.
