He has acted in most types of property litigation including rating appeals and has extensive experience of disputes about the amount of compensation payable for the compulsory purchase of land.
He also has extensive experience of acting in disputes that arise from the contamination of land and of acting in construction and engineering disputes generally whether through adjudications, arbitrations or litigation in the Technology & Construction Court. He acts for public sector bodies and owners or tenants of land and buildings.
Andy has sat as a Deputy District Judge since 1997.
Current cases include acting in major disputes for:
- a local authority against an engineering contractor on a public transport project where the contract was let on an NEC standard form
- various claimants for compensation for land taken for the Crossrail scheme
- one of the UK’s major transport and infrastructure groups against a sewerage undertaker over the emptying of sewers into a canal
