A dairy farmer faced with losing his farmhouse. We reached agreement with HS2 and a planning agreement with the local authority for a replacement farmhouse at HS2’s cost on other land so that he could continue to farm.
A long established farm estate faced with compulsory purchase of much of its land causing severance of farming units, access problems and loss of mineral rights. We negotiated various safeguards and appeared before the Parliamentary select committee to secure some valuable farm land being taken out of the Bill.
A nearby resident who, in special circumstances, needed enhanced noise protection.
A golf club threatened with the sudden noise of passing trains and the loss of a hole and fairway, making competition and ordinary play impossible. We negotiated noise mitigation and a course reconfiguration at HS2’s expense.
A commercial tenant facing compulsory purchase. We helped to secure their business continuity by securing a much longer notice to vacate their premises.
A performance venue threatened with major long term works very close to their building. We negotiated terms to safeguard the continuation of their business and public access to it.
An organisation representing rural landowners and businesses. We helped to secure a series of undertakings for their members and a change to the HS2 Bill.
A District Council to secure mitigation and control over landscaping of tunnelling spoil.
A major motor car manufacturer affected by severe access disruption compromising its 365/24/7 delivery obligations and work force shift patterns. We negotiated satisfactory alternative arrangements.
A Borough Council faced with losing development land for a train depot. We secured alternative development land and public realm improvements to offset the Bill’s impacts.
A specialist film studio facing major construction activities all around them. We secured special mitigation for the impact of HS2 noise and vibration on their sensitive activities.
A statutory water and sewerage undertaker facing the compulsory purchase of part of a strategic sewage treatment works. We helped to secure the continuation of their business on acceptable terms.
A well-known professional football club facing the compulsory purchase of several training pitches and the potential extinguishment of its elite Academy. We helped the club present its case to the Parliamentary select committee. We continue to assist in negotiations to safeguard the club’s future.
A local authority with major HS2 works including a new station in its area. We helped to secure development opportunities there and many safeguards for the local communities.
A historic building and business in Birmingham facing interference with their vehicular access by HS2 construction works. We assisted in securing continued 24 hour access to their premises.
A racehorse trainer facing the extinguishment of his business. We have negotiated the retention of the house and some land so that he can start a new business there.
A railway operating company facing disruption to its passenger services by the HS2 works and a threat to its long term development plans. We helped to secure binding assurances from HS2 for the benefit of the company.
A major zoological charity to protect a rare and sensitive hedgehog population from the impacts of construction.
A statutory waterways undertaker whose canal would suffer visual and noise impacts. We secured a change to the railway alignment and some design protections.
