Planning for Major Infrastructure Projects in London

This is a half-day seminar by Bircham Dyson Bell and London Councils.
 
This seminar will be invaluable to those who will be affected by major infrastructure projects on the agenda for London, such as High Speed 2 and the Thames Tunnel.  It will be of particular interest to planners, legal, transport and community engagement teams, as well as councillors.  Details of the Government's legislative programme have now been released in the Queen's Speech.
 
The seminar will focus on:

  • how local authorities can best engage in the planning and authorisation processes for major infrastructure projects
  • consider the processes in the Planning Act 2008 and likely changes through the Government's proposed Decentralisation and Localism Bill, as well as alternative processes under Hybrid and Private Bills
  • examine the lessons learnt from the planning process for Crossrail
