Bob Neill, Member of Parliament for Bromley & Chislehurst, Shadow Local Government & Planning Minister and Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party.
Bob was elected as the Member of Parliament for Bromley & Chislehurst in June 2006. After only a year in Parliament Bob was appointed Shadow London Minister, joining the Shadow Communities & Local Government team. In 2008 he was made Shadow Local Government Minister and Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party and in January 2009, Bob also took over the shadow planning brief.
Bob has represented communities across London for nearly thirty years and has a wealth of local government experience. Prior to the creation of the Greater London Authority, he served on the former GLC, representing Romford. Bob also served as a councillor in the London Borough of Havering for 16 years, chairing the Environment and Social Services Committees.
Bob served as London Assembly Member for Bexley and Bromley from 2000-2008. During this time he served as Leader of the Greater London Authority's Conservative Group until June 2006.
Registration for the breakfast will commence at 8.00 am, the meeting at 8.30 am and proceedings will finish by no later than 9.30 am, although tea and coffee will be available afterwards.
The breakfast will be held at our offices at 50 Broadway, London SW1H 0BL (opposite St James’s Park Underground station). The session will be held under the Chatham House rule.
Bob will be speaking about the Conservative Party’s plans for the planning system generally, including the new regime under the Planning Act 2008 involving National Policy Statements and the Infrastructure Planning Commission.
